Queenstown 2007 promises to be both a great
venue and a great meeting. On behalf of John
Gilbert, the Society President and the
organizing committee, I invite you to join
us the for Society’s Diamond Jubilee
Meeting. The meeting runs from Tuesday
evening 13th November to Saturday 17th
November.
John Graham (UK), Brent Senior (USA), Marcus
Atlas (WA) and Suren Krishnan (SA), our
keynote speakers, will deliver a broad
curriculum which we are sure will appeal to
everyone. In addition Mark Haggard, the 2007
Community Trust of Otago Visiting Professor,
will enlighten us about recent findings
relevant to the management of Otitis Media.
As this is our Diamond Jubilee we shall take
time to celebrate the history of our
Society.
Each year the Society as a whole looks
forward to the meeting and Queenstown and
environs offer the perfect place for
exertion and relaxation, both mental and
physical. There will be a broad range of
activities offered during our recreational
afternoon, including the annual golf
tournament (played this year at the
picturesque Arrowtown course), and we are
sure everyone will find something that
appeals to them.
This year the Conference is at Rydges
Lakeland Resort. They have excellent
facilities with a large exhibition area and
we think the venue will make for a very
enjoyable meeting. The meeting will include
special sessions for those working in
provincial centres and for those interested
in participation in OME research or clinical
practice audit. On the Saturday morning
there will be a session devoted to private
practice which will be a great opportunity
to discuss both setting up in practice and
improved practice management. Do take time
to look at the provisional programme.
We hope that you are able to find time in
your busy schedules to attend the meeting;
we look forward to seeing you there.
